News about ASTM Digital Library and Standards Agreement
The agreement with ASTM and its UK agent Content Online to provide the ASTM Digital Library and Standards Package has been "live" for a little over a month. Amongst other benefits, subscribers will gain access to the complete ASTM library of books, journals, and papers and not a subset or cut down version.
Replies to a number of questions that have been asked by sites have now been posted on the web site. Topics include counter compliance, linking from VLEs, downloading policy, access management and cross searching. Please see: http://www.eduserv.org.uk/chest/restricted/astm/faqs.

Emerald Group Publishing Limited has worked with the British Library to digitize the full archive of its journals collection in business, management, library and information services, materials science and engineering.
The backfile is now available online, providing users with direct access to historical articles in a fully searchable format.
The Emerald Backfile covers a wide range of subjects from over 120 journal titles, with some articles dating back to 1899. A list of the subjects covered and other features is available here.
The resource costs £12,000 + VAT for outright purchase; this represents a significant saving of 40%. Site may also spread payments over 3 years paying £4,667 + VAT per year.
